Getting Started with Aegis
Aegis is an all-in-one Discord bot covering moderation, automod, leveling, tickets, logging, and more โ all configurable through a web dashboard.
Adding Aegis to Your Server
Click Add to Server on the Aegis homepage or use the invite link from /invite. You'll need Administrator permission in the target server.
Once added, Aegis will automatically set up its database for your server. No setup commands are required โ everything is configured through the dashboard.
The first time you open the dashboard for a server, Aegis will load your server's channels and roles automatically. This may take a moment on first load.
Opening the Dashboard
Go to aegisdashboard.xyz and click Dashboard. Log in with Discord and select your server. You'll only see servers where:
- You have Administrator permission, or
- You have a role assigned as a Mod Role or Admin Role in Aegis's server settings
Bot Permissions
Aegis requests Administrator permission by default for full functionality. If you prefer a restricted setup, here are the minimum permissions per feature:
| Feature | Required Permissions |
|---|---|
| Moderation | Kick Members, Ban Members, Moderate Members, Manage Roles |
| AutoMod / Anti-Scam | Manage Messages, Read Message History |
| Logging | View Audit Log, Read/Send Messages in log channels |
| Tickets | Manage Channels, Read/Send Messages, Attach Files |
| Leveling | Send Messages, Manage Roles (for level-up role rewards) |
| Temp Voice | Manage Channels, Move Members, Connect |
| Welcome / Leave | Send Messages in configured channel |
Quick Setup Guide
Recommended order for getting Aegis fully set up:
- Server Settings โ Set your Mod Role and Admin Role so your staff can access the dashboard
- Logging โ Configure log channels so you have an audit trail from the start
- AutoMod โ Enable filters appropriate for your community
- Welcome โ Set up a welcome channel and message for new members
- Enable any additional features as needed
Slash Commands
Aegis uses Discord slash commands exclusively. Type / in any channel to see available commands. See the full Command Reference for a complete list.
Most features are configured through the dashboard rather than commands. Commands are primarily for moderation actions and quick lookups.
Support
